FLAMENQUITAS

FLAMENQUITAS

For one hour, once a week, these in-person dance lessons will introduce children to the amazing and wide world of Flamenco dance by teaching them the correct body position for the flamenco style, the Braceos (wrist turns), the Taconeos (percussion with the feet) and learning how to dance some Flamenco rhythms. There are innumerable benefits that learning this style of dance offers at an early age: starting with the development of your artistic, cognitive and physical-motor skills, their concentration and coordination, the discipline that dance teaches, the correct body posture, the introduction to the appreciation of dance and the arts in general; in addition, it helps children to be more outgoing and to relate better with other children their age.

Dancers must attend classes with a long flamenco skirt, flamenco shoes, a black leotard (either short or long sleeves) and a red flower in their hair. The particular hairstyle of the flamenco classes will be explained personally to the students and parents during the first week of the course.
